The Olympic Village, London with Sue

Hi,
I'm sorry the photos aren't better quality, my camera didn't seem to be able to cope with focusing on both Alex in the foreground and the background.
These photo are from the Olympic village in London, on Monday 30th July. The weather was perfect-sunny with some cloud and a strong breeze keeping it cool. There was a fair crowd, which we expected, and we managed to see our Prime Minister David Cameron in the afternoon, although Mr Cameron moved too quickly for me to get a photo of Alex with him!
I hope you enjoy these pictures, my children and I loved taking Alex with us,
best regards
Sue

Caribbean Cruise with Michele

Hi, Jennie!
It's me, Michele aka CheleOh from TwoPeas! :-) I live in So Cal, but I took Alex with me on my cruise last week.
This first picture is of Alex with our "towel elephant" in our stateroom. Also showing is our "Fun Times" (ship newspaper) that contained all of the information about upcoming events including our first destination island: Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas.

It was an honor to take Alex with me.

Chele :-)

This one is Flat Alex and my pretty (but sandy) toes on Half Moon Cay, Bahamas.

Later in the day, we were caught in a downpour, but Flat Alex was safe and dry in my beach bag. :-)
Flat Alex on the streets of San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Laying out on a beach chair on Grand Turk. Flat Alex also helped me with some of my crossword puzzles.

And, finally, climbing a palm tree ... going after a coconut (also on Grand Turk).
Much love to you & yours, Jennie!
Chele :-)

A New Spin on Flat Alex and Italy with Olivia J.

I Believe I Can Fly
Olivia is headed to Italy for an art abroad program. I asked if she'd like to take Flat Alex. She said YES but had trouble printing him out. Being an artist, Olivia tapped into her skills and drew her own version of F.A. Well done Olivia. Have a safe and fun trip abroad and we can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Off to the market
It's a super old baptistery called the piazza del duomo. So beautiful. I've never seen anything like it. It was built after the black plague passed over Italy as a celebration of the ending of the "dark days" of Italy.

No visit to Chicago is complete without indulging in a traditional Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. Here's Alex with Sam and Fred at Lou Malnati's Pizzeria in the Loop.

Alex near the statue of King Tut. The facial features of this colossal statue strongly resemble other representations o f Tutankhamun, suggesting it was commissioned for him. The Oriental Institute excavated two of these statues

I couldn't resist capturing a photo of Alex in front of a local bakery in Wicker Park which featured a scrumptious looking Panda cake.

Seattle WA at the Hendrix Memorial with Austin

In 2010, Alex had the opportunity to view the Jimi Hendrix collection at the Experience Music Project. He was in 7th Heaven the whole day. We have to believe that Alex is learning the art of guitar and music from a master in Heaven. I'm sure Hendrix was one of the first souls he sought out after his arrival last August. Thanks, Austin for visitng the Hendrix memorial for Alex. You're a true friend.
